StickyBoard is a sticky-note board for the everyday thoughts you don't want to lose: a phone number you'll need in ten minutes, a half-formed idea, a meeting action item, a snippet from a doc. Drop it on a board, pin the important ones to your desktop, and they're always one glance away.
Boards live in the sidebar; notes live on an infinite canvas you can pan, zoom, and arrange like a real corkboard - drag, resize, recolor, group by tag.
Highlights
- Multiple boards - sidebar list with inline rename, drag-to-reorder, and per-board note counts; switch boards with one click or from the menu bar tray.
- Pin to desktop - promote any sticky to a floating always-on-top window that lives on your desktop, even after StickyBoard's main window is closed. Move it, resize it, close it to unpin.
- Quick capture - hit
⌘⇧Sfrom anywhere on macOS to summon a Spotlight-style box, type your note,⌘↵to save. Works from any app, even when StickyBoard is hidden. - Markdown rendering - write in plain text or use Markdown for headings, lists, links, code blocks, bold and italic; the note flips between edit and rendered view as you click in and out.
- Tags - color-coded labels you can attach to any note; filter the canvas to a single tag to see just the notes that matter for the task in front of you.
- Six note colors - yellow, pink, blue, green, purple, and gray; per-note color picker so you can sort visually at a glance.
- Search across boards -
⌘Fopens the search box; the sidebar shows a hit count next to every board so you know exactly where each match lives. - Undo / redo - every move, resize, recolor, delete, tag, and create goes on a 100-step history stack;
⌘Zto walk back,⌘⇧Zto walk forward. - Import & export Markdown - drop a
.mdfile on the window or pick one from File → Open… to turn it into a sticky; export any board to a single Markdown file for backup or sharing. - Menu bar tray - a tilted-sticky icon in the menu bar with shortcuts to open the app, fire a new sticky, jump straight to any board, and toggle Launch at login.
- Launch at login - opt-in autostart that boots StickyBoard straight into the tray (no UI flash) and restores every pinned desktop note from your last session.
- Light & dark themes - one-click toggle in the header; pin windows on the desktop swap palette live with the main app.
