Nothing is uploaded and there is no account to sign up for. Your ideas, journals and personal writing sit on your own computer, in a format any other app can open, so leaving is always as easy as arriving.

How it works
The first time you open it, choose a folder to keep your notes in, or let NoteCafe make one for you. Then start a new note and begin typing - everything saves itself as you go, straight into that folder as a text file you can see, copy and back up like any other.
After that it is the same loop every day: open the app, search or pick a note from the list down the side, and write. A command palette puts every action a few keystrokes away, so you can stay on the keyboard from first word to last.
