PDFCafe is a fast, friendly PDF viewer & editor. Open any PDF and read it, mark it up, sign it, fix a typo right inside the text, then save - all in one calm window, with no subscription and no uploading your files to the cloud.

Everything happens on your own computer. Your documents never leave your device, so private contracts, signed forms, and personal paperwork stay private.

Highlights

1. Read comfortably - open any PDF, zoom in and out, jump between pages from the thumbnail strip, and switch to dark mode in Settings for easy night reading. One click on the zoom percentage flips between 100% and fit to width.
2. Highlight & annotate - highlight important lines, draw freehand with the pen, or add rectangles, ovals, lines, and text boxes in any color. Marks land where you put them, even on pages the document stores rotated. Made a mistake? Just undo.
3. Place images - drop a photo, logo or stamp onto any page, drag it into place, resize it from any corner or edge, and fade it with the opacity slider. It stays in the PDF when you save or print.
4. Sign in seconds - create your signature by drawing it, typing your name and picking any font on your computer - search the list and see your name in each one as you scroll - or uploading a picture of it. Drop it onto the page, resize it, and even apply it to every page at once.
5. Reusable signature library - save your signatures once and reuse them on any document - no need to redraw them every time.
6. Edit the actual text - click a word that's already in the PDF and change it, fix a typo, adjust its size or color, or delete it. Re-drawn text keeps the exact space it had, so a corrected phrase cannot crowd the word beside it, and a scanned page's invisible text layer is left alone.
7. Export the pages you pick - select one page thumbnail or several, then right-click to save them as JPG images, one file per page, or gather them into a single new PDF. Clicking outside the strip clears the selection.
8. Japanese & Chinese documents - CJK pages render and edit correctly. PDFCafe picks a font that genuinely carries the characters in your text, then embeds only the part of it the page uses.
9. Search the whole document - type a word and instantly find every place it appears, then jump straight to the page you need.
10. Print & save - print straight from the app, and save your marked-up, signed, or edited PDF back to your computer. Saves stay lean: the 450KB Unicode font is embedded only when a page actually needs it, so a small PDF comes back small.
11. Hand off to PDFToWord - when you need the document as an editable Word file, open it straight in PDFToWord from the View panel.
12. Private by design - works fully offline. Nothing is uploaded; your files stay on your device.

How it works

Once it's open, drag a PDF in or choose Open… from the ⋮ menu. Pick a tool from the top - View, Annotate, Sign, or Edit text - make your changes, then choose Save as… from the ⋮ menu. You can even set PDFCafe as your default PDF app so files open in it with a double-click.

The thumbnail strip down the side is its own small workspace: select the pages you care about, right-click, and send them out as JPG images or as one new PDF, leaving the original untouched.
