XSaver turns an idle screen into a wall of instruments. A rotating globe, a radar sweep, a scrolling list of everything your machine is doing, a world map with attack arcs flying between cities, all glowing in one colour on a black screen.
Walk away and it takes over every screen you have. Touch anything and it is gone.

- It becomes your screen saver. Nothing to go and change in system settings: it switches the old one off for you, and hands it straight back the moment you change your mind.
- Every screen, at the same moment. The laptop and the monitor plugged into it light up together, and it reaches over an app running full screen, which is where most things like this give up.
- It knows when to stay out of the way. While a film, a presentation or a video call is running, it waits instead of painting over it.
- One key covers your work. A keyboard shortcut of your choosing, or the menu bar icon, brings it up instantly when somebody appears behind you.
- Old-monitor treatment. Scan lines across the picture and a darkened edge, for a screen that looks like it has been on since 1995. Switchable.
How it works
Pick a look, pick how long to wait, and close the window. XSaver watches for a quiet keyboard and mouse, then covers everything. A live preview sits in the settings window running the real thing, so you can see exactly what you are choosing before you choose it.
Portrait and landscape layouts are both there, so a monitor turned on its side gets a deck built for it rather than a stretched one.
