MergeImages

MergeImages merges several photos into one - a collage for social, an ID card sheet ready for the print shop, or a long scrolling screenshot joined without a seam. Everything happens on your Mac; no photo ever leaves it.

Drop your images in and MergeImages offers the frames that suit how many you have and what shape they are. Two photos get side-by-side and big-plus-small splits; nine get a grid or a justified mosaic that crops nothing. Pick one, nudge the split lines, export.

Highlights

1. Frames that match your photos - more than thirty layouts, filtered by how many images are loaded. Auto arranges them by aspect ratio so nothing has to be cropped.
2. Drag the split lines - every divider is grabbable. Pull one across to give a photo more room; there is no separate editing mode to enter.
3. ID cards at their true size - both sides of an ID card land on A4 at exactly 85.6 × 54 mm with crop marks, at 300 DPI. No slider can distort that.
4. Print without leaving the app - File > Print (⌘P) sends the sheet straight to your printer through the system print dialog, at full resolution. No export-then-open detour for a page you are only going to cut up anyway.
5. Passport photo sheets - 3×4, 4×6 and 3.5×4.5 cm repeated across 10×15 cm or A4 paper, cut lines included.
6. Long screenshot stitching - window captures arrive with the drop shadow baked in as transparent padding, and that padding is trimmed on the way in, so two screenshots sit flush instead of a shadow's width apart. Hand it a series of scrolling captures and it finds the overlap between each pair, then joins them into one continuous image. The strip keeps its full width however long it gets, so the text stays readable. A slider is there for when a sticky header fools it.
7. Per-cell control - click a cell and scroll to zoom the photo inside it, drag to reposition, rotate, flip, or switch between filling the cell and fitting the whole photo. Hold Cmd and drag to move a photo to another cell. Scrolling anywhere else zooms the artboard itself.
8. A look worth sharing - gaps, rounded corners, drop shadows, borders, and a background that can be a colour, a gradient, a blurred copy of one of your photos, or fully transparent.
9. Sized for where it is going - square, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9, or type exact pixels with the ratio locked. One-tap presets for Instagram, Stories, Facebook and web.
10. Metadata stripped automatically - the export is re-encoded, so GPS coordinates, camera serial numbers and capture times never ride along with a merged document.
11. PNG, JPEG or WebP - with a quality slider, plus ⌘⇧C to copy the result straight to the clipboard when you only need to paste it somewhere.

How it works

Drop images onto the window or press ⌘O - or right-click a photo in Finder and choose Open With. They line up in the film strip on the left, where you can drag to reorder, or drag one onto a particular cell to swap it in.

The panel on the right holds the frame gallery, per-cell adjustments, styling and output size. What you see on the artboard is exactly what gets written to disk: the preview and the export run the same renderer, so there is no surprise at the end. In paper mode, any cell whose source photo is too low-resolution for the print size is flagged with its effective DPI before you commit. Saved layouts and export presets live in ~/Library/Application Support/MergeImages/.
