DemoTrading

Practise crypto trading with fake money on real live prices

Updated September 2026 · v1.6.0

DemoTrading is a crypto trading simulator for people who want to learn how trading actually works before a single real dollar is at stake. It puts a full exchange terminal on your own computer - live candlestick chart, order book, trades tape and a buy/sell ticket - and funds it with money that is not real.

The prices are. Every quote, candle and order book level streams live from Binance's public market data, so a trade you place at 2pm behaves exactly as it would have on the real thing. There is no exchange account, no API key and no sign-up: your balance, orders and history live in a file you keep, and nowhere else.

Highlights

  1. One account per file - every account is a .trade file you save wherever you like. Keep one for practice and another for a strategy you are testing, open both at once in their own windows, and reopen either by double-clicking it. Move it, copy it, back it up: it is your file.
  2. Real market data, fake money - live prices, candles, order book depth and the trades tape come straight from Binance, so you practise against the market as it moves right now.
  3. Market and limit orders that behave properly - a limit order rests until the price actually reaches it, then fills at your price. Your balance is reserved while it waits, so you can never spend the same dollar twice.
  4. Profit and loss you can trust - average entry price, unrealized PnL on open positions, and realized PnL booked per trade, with a simulated 0.10% fee charged on both sides exactly as a real exchange would.
  5. The same chart you will graduate to - eight timeframes from one minute to one month, volume under the candles, moving averages at 7, 25 and 99, and RSI at 6, 12 and 24 in its own pane with 30 and 70 marked. The same three periods Binance draws, so nothing has to be relearned. Turn each on or off; the app remembers which you use.
  6. Every USDT pair on Binance - search hundreds of pairs by name, from Bitcoin to whatever launched last week, each with its own 24h move and real tick and lot sizes.
  7. A portfolio that adds up - cash is listed as a holding beside your coins, with the weight of each, so the rows come to exactly the equity figure at the top of the window. Buying does not make your total fall; it moves value from cash into a coin, and the only thing it costs outright is the fee.
  8. A performance page that tells the truth - equity curve, total return, win rate, best and worst trade, average win against average loss, largest drawdown, and a profit and loss breakdown per pair.
  9. Four tabs, nothing else - Trade, Portfolio, Orders and Stats. No dense configuration panels, no feature soup. A beginner can read the screen in five seconds.
  10. Reset whenever you like - blew up the account? Start again with any balance you choose and keep practising. Nothing is permanent except what you learn.
  11. Yours alone - no account, no cloud, no telemetry. The only thing DemoTrading ever asks the internet for is public price data.

How it works

Open the app and it asks where to keep your account and what it starts with. Choose a balance and you are on the trade screen, with a file that is yours from the first moment - the account takes its name from the file, so there is no second name to keep in step. Choose a pair, watch the chart, then type an amount in dollars or in the coin itself and press Buy. Quick 25 / 50 / 75 / 100% buttons size the order against your available balance, and the ticket shows the fee and the total before you commit.

Your holdings appear under Portfolio with live profit and loss and the share of your money each one represents, where you can close a position at market. Orders keeps the resting limit orders and the full fill history. When you want to know how you are really doing, the Stats tab draws your equity curve and does the arithmetic that traders actually judge themselves on.

Perfect for

  1. Complete beginners who want to understand orders, fees and PnL without risking money
  2. Anyone curious about crypto trading who is not ready to open an exchange account
  3. Traders testing a strategy or a new pair before committing real capital
  4. Students and teachers who need a realistic market to demonstrate on
  5. Anyone who has ever wondered "what if I had bought that" and wants to find out honestly
