Brewser is a small, fast browser for the everyday stuff: open a page, search something, read an article, save the video a friend just sent you. No clutter, no extensions to install, no account to sign into — just a window and an address bar.
It feels light because it is light: the whole app is only a few megabytes, opens instantly, and stays out of the way while you browse. Available for both Mac and Windows .
What it does
- Blocks ads automatically — pages load cleaner and faster the moment you open the app. No setup, no extensions. There's a toggle in the toolbar if you ever want to turn it off for a specific site.
- Downloads videos from almost any site — click the download button, hit Check media , and Brewser shows you everything available on the page: full video, just the audio, or even an MP3 you can drop straight into your music library.
- Saves audio as MP3 — perfect for grabbing a song, a podcast clip, or a lecture. Brewser picks the best quality available and converts it for you in the background.
- Cancel a download anytime — change your mind halfway through? Hit Stop and the download ends cleanly — nothing keeps running quietly behind the scenes.
- Clean address bar — copy, paste, select all, undo — all the shortcuts you'd expect. Click the bar once and the whole URL is selected, ready to replace.
- A tidier DuckDuckGo home page — when you open DuckDuckGo, Brewser quietly hides the marketing blocks under the search box so you just see what you came for: a search box.
- Close without quitting — closing the window just hides Brewser; click the icon to bring it back instantly. If you actually want to quit, use the Quit menu.
- Stays up to date by itself — the parts that make video downloads work get updated quietly in the background, so other sites keep working even when they change things.
