CreamRec X is a fast, native screen recorder for macOS - record the full screen, a single window, or any area to MP4, with audio, pause and resume, and one-tap trim & GIF export, all driven from the menu bar.

Pick a mode and hit record; a live timer ticks in the menu bar and there's no busy floating bar in your shot. Recordings stay on your Mac.

1. Three capture modes - record the full screen, a single window, or a dragged-out area; ⌘⇧R records your last-used mode.
2. Quality & size controls - choose 15 / 30 / 60 fps and a Native, 1080p, or 720p resolution to balance crispness against file size.

4. Pause & resume - pause mid-take and pick up where you left off; the paused span is dropped so the clip stays tight. Toggle with ⌘⇧P.
5. Menu-bar timer - a blinking dot and a running clock show exactly how long you've been recording, even with the window closed.
6. Countdown - an optional 3- or 5-second countdown with a beep so you can get set before it rolls.
7. Trim & GIF export - top-and-tail a recording or export it as a small, medium, or large GIF, straight from the recents bar.
8. Recent recordings - every take lands in a searchable library; sort by date, name, or size, switch between list and grid with video thumbnails, and open, trim, copy, reveal in Finder, or delete in a click.
9. Lives in the menu bar - a Pause / Resume / Stop tray menu, launch at login, and light / dark / auto theme.
10. Keyboard shortcuts - global hotkeys for every action: ⌘⇧R record (start / stop), ⌘⌥W a window, ⌘⌥A an area, and ⌘⇧P pause / resume - every one rebindable in the Shortcuts panel.

How it works

Choose Screen, Window, or Area, set fps, resolution, microphone and system audio, then record. The menu-bar icon shows a live timer and a Pause / Resume / Stop menu, so nothing floats over your shot. Stop, and the clip drops into a searchable Recent library - list or grid, with thumbnails - ready to trim, turn into a GIF, copy, or reveal in Finder.

Everything is hotkey-driven and stays on your Mac; fps, resolution, audio, hotkeys, save folder and theme all persist locally.
