Fresh Brews: BlinkBrew, Decoresso, and Emojito Join the Menu
BlinkBrew is new in Cold Brew, Decoresso and Emojito graduate from Coming Soon, and two categories hit full shelves. The café now serves 81 apps.
Three drinks left the counter this week. BlinkBrew is brand new in Cold Brew, and Decoresso and Emojito both moved off the Coming Soon board and onto the live menu. That leaves exactly one app still steeping: VectorStudio in Mocha. The café now serves 81 apps.
BlinkBrew: the 20-20-20 rule, actually enforced
You know the rule. Every twenty minutes, look at something twenty feet away for twenty seconds. Eye doctors hand it out constantly, and almost nobody follows it, because nobody remembers.
BlinkBrew fixes the remembering part. A small icon sits by your clock and counts down to your next break. When the time comes it dims the screen and shows a ring that empties over twenty seconds. When the ring runs out, you carry on.
The details are what make it work. All your screens dim together, including apps running fullscreen, which is where people most need the reminder. It never steals focus: the screen darkens, but your keystrokes still land where you aimed them. Skip one or push it a few minutes out, and either way you get a whole fresh interval. There's a strict mode for the days you skip every single one: no skip button, and the corner icon won't let you out either. It knows when you were away too: shut the lid for an hour and it picks up at the start of a fresh interval instead of firing a pile of missed breaks at you. Intervals run fifteen minutes to an hour, the rests themselves twenty seconds to two minutes, with four dim strengths from a light haze to almost black.
BlinkBrew lives in the same menu bar neighbourhood as the apps from last week's roundup, and it's the kind of tool that only makes sense native: a reminder that dims your displays without ever taking over your keyboard.
Decoresso: your desktop, now with 3D objects
Decoresso joined the Coming Soon board back on August 24 and it's live now: animated 3D objects you can place on your desktop, grab with the cursor, and spin around.
With Decoresso live, Affogato's shelf is complete. The category now holds six apps: ChessCafe, FolderRoast, WallpaperBrew, BrewSpin, LofiLatte, and Decoresso. Personalize & Entertainment has gone from a new idea to a full shelf in under a week.
Emojito: every emoji, sticker and GIF, one keystroke away
Emojito is a search box for the things you actually type into Slack and Messages all day: emoji, stickers, and animated GIFs. Press Cmd-Shift-E anywhere, type two letters, hit Enter. The popover copies and disappears without you ever leaving the app you were in.
The catalogue is the fun part. 1,914 emoji from the full Unicode 17 set, fully offline, searchable by Unicode's own keywords, so "shrug", "+1" and "party" all find what you mean. 147,000 Emoji Kitchen stickers, every mashup Google has drawn, searchable by ingredient: type "cat", pick the cat, see every sticker it appears in. And 881 animated emoji GIFs: the grid shows stills so it stays quick, hover one and it plays, and copying puts the real file on the clipboard, so a pasted GIF still moves in Slack, Messages, Mail or Notes.
Skin tones stick: pick one once and all 323 tone-aware emoji follow it. Recents and favourites float what you actually use to the top across all three tabs. And nothing in the app can run out: no developer key to register, no token to paste into settings, no quota to hit halfway through the week. Emojito was announced as Coming Soon on August 23 and shipped a few days later, the same quick turn as last week's batch of CalCafe, FlightTrack, and TinyPDF.
What's left on the board
Emojito's graduation clears Frappe, and Decoresso's clears Affogato: both categories now run full menus with zero waitlist. Cold Brew grew by one with BlinkBrew. The only app still marked Coming Soon anywhere is VectorStudio in Mocha, which has been steeping since July.
