NitroTranslate turns your own AI provider into a fast, natural translator and proofreader right on your Mac. Bring a Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or DeepSeek key - or point it at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint - and translate between 45+ languages with quality a phrasebook translator can't touch.

There's no account and no subscription to us - you pay your provider directly, and your key lives only on your Mac and is sent straight to the provider you pick, never to anyone else. Type on the left, read the translation on the right as you write, and fix grammar in the same window.

5. Knows the language for you - leave the source on Auto-detect and the model reports what it actually read, so it lands on the right language even when you paste something unexpected. Swap the two sides - and the text - with one tap.
6. Translates as you type - results appear as you pause, and only the part you're editing is redone, so it stays fast even on long passages. Both panes scroll together, paragraph for paragraph.
7. History & native look - your documents are saved as you go and kept in a slide-out sidebar, in a clean Mac-native design that follows your light or dark theme.
8. Send it onward - copy the translation in one click, or open it straight in DocCafe or NoteCafe.

How it works

Open NitroTranslate and set up your provider once: pick Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, or a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint, choose a model, and paste your API key. The key is checked on the spot, then saved on your Mac.

From there, type or paste text on the left and pick the language you want on the right. The translation appears beside it as you write, and grammar corrections show up underneath. Your key and your documents live in ~/Library/Application Support/NitroTranslate/ and your text is sent only to the provider you chose - nowhere else.
