DualText puts your text and its translation together - each paragraph paired with its translation right below it, so you can read both at once instead of flipping between two windows. It translates with your own AI, for results that read naturally in any language.

Bring your own key from Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, or any OpenAI-compatible service, and DualText talks straight to that provider - your key stays on your Mac and there's no middleman server in between. No account, no subscription to start: add a key and translate.

How it works

Open DualText and add your AI key once - Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, or a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Then type or paste text on the left, or open a .txt, .docx, or Markdown file and keep its formatting. Pick the language you want on the right, and the translation fills in paragraph by paragraph beside it as you write. When you're done, export to .docx or copy it anywhere.

Your key and your documents stay on your own computer, in ~/Library/Application Support/DualText/. When you translate, the text goes only to the AI provider whose key you entered - never to a server of ours.
