Paste is the clipboard manager a lot of Mac people know. You copy things all day, and Paste keeps them in a history you can scroll back through. For most of us, that's the whole job: find the link, snippet or screenshot from earlier and drop it back in. Paste charges $29.99 a year for it, and its Mac download is 31.2 MB.
ClipBrew does that same job on your Mac. It saves the text, links, code, images and files you copy, lets you search all of it as you type, and lets you pin the bits you keep reaching for. It comes with a getapps.cafe membership, so you don't pay for it on its own.
Small, quick, and out of the way
- Small download. ClipBrew for Mac is 7.4 MB. Paste's Mac download is 31.2 MB.
- Search as you type. Your whole history filters with each key you press, so there's no scrolling or digging through menus.
- Always there. Close the window and ClipBrew keeps watching from the dock. It's a universal app, so it runs the same on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
What you can do in it
- Keep everything. History has no limit, so you can pull back something you copied days or weeks ago with one click.
- Filter by type. Text, Links, Code, Images and Files each get a chip with a live count. Need this morning's screenshot? Tap Image.
- Read code properly. Copied code shows up with syntax highlighting in 20+ languages and a language badge.
- Open links in one click. Click a link row to open it in your browser, or copy it back.
- Pin your regulars. Email signatures, deploy commands and canned replies stay at the top, even after you clear history.
- Keep it private. Your clips never leave your Mac. Apple Passwords, 1Password, Bitwarden and other password managers are skipped automatically.
Who it's for
Developers who copy commands and config blocks all day. Writers and researchers collecting quotes and source links. Designers juggling hex codes and asset paths. Support folks reusing the same replies. Anyone who works on one Mac and just wants their clipboard to remember things.
When to stick with Paste
If you want your clipboard on your iPhone and iPad too, keep Paste. It runs on all three and keeps them in sync, and ClipBrew is Mac only. Paste also lets you share pinboards with your team and has AI features built in. And if you'd rather pay once, Paste sells a lifetime plan.
What it costs
ClipBrew isn't sold on its own. It comes with a getapps.cafe membership, from $1.99 a month on the annual plan, and that includes every other app on the menu too. A Solo plan covers one device, Family covers five. There's a 7-day free trial, so you can see if it sticks before paying anything.
